Title Personal letter to Alexander Kilgour from Beall & Anderson, of "Cheap Lands in Montgomery County"
Date March 1, 1886
Scope & Content "Cheap Lands" [the name of a real estate development brochure published by Beall & Anderson; see page 69, _Rockville: Portrait of a City_]

this is a handwritten letter, dated March 1, 1886, to Alexander Kilgour, Esq., of Rockville from George Minor Anderson of same. envelope (no stamp or postmark) and letterhead are from Anderson's business, Beall & Anderson ("Cheap Lands in Montgomery County - Agents and Attorneys for Owners") but the letter is in regards to a Society that Anderson and Kilgour belong to, rather than a land transaction. Mr. Kilgour is in "a delicate state of health" and the Phythosophian Society is extending sympathies (in an official Resolution). Mr. Kilgour seems to have not conformed to the rules of the Society (due to his health) and they're hoping he will be able to return some day. Also a reference to Mr. Kilgour helping in a charity charade event to purchase a piano for the town hall.
